A consultation consists of an intake questionnaire, assessment of both mother/parent and infant (in-clinic, virtual or in-home), individualized written feeding plan, and email or follow up support.
Consultation includes:
- Assessment of mother/parent
- Assessment of the infant
- Devise a plan of care in your breastfeeding situation
- Instruction and coaching mothers/parents in optimal feeding positions
- Latching
- Frequency and duration of feedings
- Pumping and hand expression
- Weaning
- Parameters for infant output
- Problem solving any issues, challenges or concerns
- Lactation and postpartum counselling
- Assisting you to reach your feeding goals
- Low milk supply assessment
- Addressing any concerns and answering any questions
